My experience-Try the whole way or call it?

Been on Topamax/Topiramate for 15 days now for chronic migraines, currently at 75 mg, going up to the target dosage of 100 mg next week. The plan is to continue until September 14th which is when I have my next available phone appointment with my neurologist to discuss whether we continue with Topiramate or try something else.

So far... these past 15 days have not impressed me.

I get, on average, 15 attacks a month (7-10 on the pain scale, bedridden, incapacitated) and 25 "milder" migraines (4-6 on the pain scale, can't even do basic housework). In other words, I'm functionally disabled. I spend most of my life either sitting or laying down, because I can't do a whole lot else.

And these past 15 days that I've been taking these pills have done nothing to change the intensity or the frequency of these migraines. All I got is a pounding fucking headache and dry eyes.

Are these ever going to start helping? You would think that by 75 mg they would start helping at least a little bit, but I feel no different from 25 mg. Hell, I feel no different from 0 mg.

I'm just wondering if I should even bother trying these until September 14th just to see if it takes a while for them to "start working", or if I should somehow try to get an earlier appointment with my neurologist to call the whole thing off way earlier.
