My experience-Concerns about Topiramate for Migraines as a Night-Shift Nurse

I am a 28 y-o female who has been dealing with 12-16 migraines/month for as long as I can remember. I've tried low doses of Amitriptyline and Propranolol in the past but could not handle the drowsiness that came with the Amitriptyline and got extremely dizzy from the propranolol and so I could not continue them. I met with my new family doctor for the first time today and she prescribed Topiramate for me to try for 4 weeks. Knowing the potential side effects of topiramate, I'm already a little apprehensive about taking it - my doctor recommended taking it before bed to minimize them, but I am a night shift nurse so my schedule is pretty all-over the place. I was just wondering if anyone has experience taking topiramate while having a pretty wishy-washy schedule and if this made things worse, realistically there is no way I could take this medication at the same time every day.

Also, does anyone have recommendations for medications that worked for them that were not taken daily so that I could maybe suggest them to my doctor?

Thank you!
