My experience-New food triggers, anyone else?
I've had chronic migraines for about 7 years, and for me they appear when stressed or instantly after eating a food trigger. When I eat a food trigger my mouth becomes numb and I feel sick, after which I will get a migraine within a few minutes. I go numb, collapse and unable to move when my migraines are at the worst.
For 7 years my only triggers were lactose and gluten, but suddenly in the last week, soya, Rapeseed oil, banana and egg have all become triggers. I just got an inner ear infection which was been giving me the worst migraine of my life during this time, so I'm hoping after this resolves my triggers will go back to normal.
I was eating all of these in my diet a lot and felt fine, so I don't understand why they all suddenly became triggers? Is it just because I am unwell that my migraines are acting up too and it will resolve? For me it's so bad if something is a trigger I have to never eat it again as the effects can be extreme.
I am not asking for medical advice, i just wonder if i am alone with this. Mainly I was wondering if anyone else had experience with new food triggers appearing over time, even in foods that you were able to eat fine before? Did this go away or is it just something I will have to deal with?
I feel so alone right now and am concerned what if I end up unable to eat if new triggers keep appearing over time...
