My experience-I'm Screwed...or I'm Being Screwed

Last March I started getting daily headaches that wouldn't go away. By May I was placed on short term disability. I continued on disability through August after receiving Botox and Nurtec. The neurologist diagnosed me with Occipital Neuralgia and Mixed Migraine Disorder. Things were ok for a couple of weeks, but then things receded and I was back in the same place, unable to finish an entire shift, and I tapped out in early November. My situation was treated as a continuation of my original leave, and I was back paid for time I couldn't work. That was on November 7th. Because my original leave started on May 13th, it ended on November 13, or 6 months later. I was told that I would then qualify for long term disability starting on November 14th. While a determination was being made I would not be paid. I had no choice, the pain was too much and I had become so depressed and stressed out over everything I was barely functioning.

Since then I received a second round of Botox, I've been switched to Aimovig and my psychiatrist put me on another medication for depression, which now makes 3. Nothing has changed. The mixed migraines along with loud tinnitus hit me ever morning. I've been referred to a pain management specialist and an endocrinologist. To cover the cost I had to wait for the new year. Meanwhile, the benefits I pay out of my paycheck (mind you I haven't gotten a paycheck in 6 weeks) were billed separately to me and I was told I had to pay $1800 by the first or lose my insurance. I did what I had to do and overdrafted my account $900. I could not pay rent and have been issued an eviction notice. Luckily the landlord is going to work with me.

I'm going through a divorce, as well. And the catalytic converter on my car went out. And today I get the call, after 6 weeks, that my disability claim is neither supported physically nor psychologically. And my neurologist agreed! Now they're waiting to hear back from my psychiatrist, and if he agrees with their assessment, then I'll be forced back to work dealing with the same symptoms I had when they placed me on short term leave back in May. How does this make sense!?

I'm a big proponent of changing what you can and accepting what you can't, but...how? Why? With the pain I'm going through every day and now my financial situation turned upside down, what the hell am I supposed to do?
