My experience-I need advice please

Since my migraine diagnosis is new (even though the migraines are not!) I’m inexperienced dealing with the treatment process. I want to know if my experience so far is typical or not. I’m feeling frustrated with my neurologist because I feel like she’s not being aggressive with figuring out preventatives. I have chronic migraine with 17-20 migraines a month. She first had me try magnesium and riboflavin and follow up at 6 weeks. Then we tried topiramate which I didn’t tolerate so we discontinued. Then we tried lisinopril which gave me the cough so we discontinued (3 weeks ago) I still have a terrible cough and she said that needs to go away before we try the next thing. She said the next thing we will try is another blood pressure med. I’m on sertraline and bupropion for mental health so can’t take SNRIs. I have asthma so I can’t take beta blockers. I would like to try a more modern treatment like CGRP inhibitors or Botox. I just don’t know what she’s thinking or why we can’t move forward with these other options. I’ve failed/contraindicated enough meds for insurance to cover newer stuff. Please tell me if this is similar to your experiences or if you know where she might be coming from!
