My experience-How to get rid of a migraine without Excedrin?

Excedrin is my holy grail. It’s the only over the counter migraine med that works for me. But I know I can’t take it every day-and after having an incredibly bad migraine from withdrawal (I’m talking incredible ‘wish you were dead’ pain, and I threw up 7 or 8 times) I’m being much more cautious about how much I take.

I already took two last week, so when I had a low grade migraine on Saturday I didn’t take anything to remedy it. That migraine extended to yesterday and today-although it’s low grade it’s still painful and very annoying. How can I get rid of this without using Excedrin? Putting cold things on my head/neck hasn’t worked for more than a minute or so, and I already tried drinking soda and coffee for the caffeine, and that didn’t work either.

Side note-I do have prescribed migraine meds but they don’t work, and my neurologist is out on maternity leave, so I’m just hoping for some short term solutions until I can see her again.
