My experience-So tired of trying to find relief at 24. I can’t do anything anymore.

Hello all. I’ve been suffering from chronic migraines and almost daily headaches for the last almost 2 years. They came out of nowhere, and I had never had issues with headaches or migraines before then. Every time I try a preventative it works for maybe 6 weeks and then I start getting headaches 5-7 days a week and migraines at least one day a week. I’ve gone through Amitriptyline, Nortriptyline, Rizatriptan, Sumatriptan, and Topiramate in a search for relief. I feel like I can’t do anything outside of my house in fear of getting a migraine and not being somewhere I can lay down.

I can’t do anything anymore. My life is go to work, come home, eat, and go to bed. I have yet to find any specific thing that triggers them. I’ve made sure I’m eating regular meals, not over sleeping, drinking enough water, getting massages to help with any tension. I can’t just sit on the couch or lay in bed and relax (no sleeping!) without suffering consequences. Caffeine and sugar doesn’t help resolve the headaches or migraines. During attacks I have to lay in a completely dark room with a cold towel over my eyes and a migraine relief YouTube video playing in my AirPods.

I made an appointment with my doctor tomorrow. Should I request any additional tests or just try to find another preventative? What luck has everyone here had in finding relief? I’m only 24, I do not want to live like this for the rest of my life :(
