My experience-rTMS has nearly cured me of vestibular migraines

This may or may not be helpful since rTMS (repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation) is not approved or covered by insurance for migraine, but based on my anecdotal experience, it needs to be. A web search shows there have been some small studies on TMS for migraine that sound like it was helpful. In my case it has all but cured me of vestibular migraines, which I was getting nearly daily.

I started TMS about 2 months ago to treat depression since I couldn't handle the side effects of the depression medications I tried. As TMS progressed over the last two months my vestibular symptoms have become a WHOLE LOT less intense and frequent.

Background:

I've had vestibular migraines for the last 10 years or so. They started gradually, but progressively got more severe and often until I started getting them nearly every work day as well as occasionally on the weekend. I finally got diagnosed with vestibular migraine by a neurologist about two years ago. He prescribed Propranolol and also recommended Magnesium Glycinate to treat the migraines. Together both helped my symptoms be a little less severe and I think they reduced the amount of migraine headaches I get, which was only on occasion.

The trigger for my vestibular migraines is just eating the first meal of the day (no matter what\when I eat) and especially if work on a computer afterward, and it lasts for hours. For example, If I ate breakfast at 8:00, typically I'd feel dizzy and ill in the head from 8:30 until 2:00 or so.

I do still get a vestibular migraine on occasion but only if I eat a large or crappy meal (like 2 weeks ago when I accepted a 2nd Taco Bell breakfast CrunchWrap that they had made by mistake; 2 Crunchwraps=Bad Idea!)

BTW, the TMS did help with my depression to the point where my score on their questionnaire for gauging depression improved by 50%.

TLDR: TMS (transcranial magnetic stimulation) is used to treat depression for those that meds don't work for. For me, it helped with depression as well as all but eliminated my nearly daily vestibular migraines.
