My experience-Annual Migraines?

My mom has REALLY bad headaches and migraines every year in December/January for a few weeks. She's barely functional and they last for days. The rest of the year she doesn't have anything out of the ordinary. It's strange to me how regularly these pains come once a year.

Any ideas to what this may be or what can be triggering it?

No one else in my family has headache issues except for me. I have bad headaches and migraines with no pattern, it's not like hers. She does not drink any alcohol or take any sort of medications.
