My experience-stabbing pain behind eye every morning for a week...migraine...meds for tender stomach?
I have a 20-year history of exertion migraines, but have learned if I caffeine-up before a workout, I won't get a migraine. Long ago, doctor prescribed Imitrex, but it absolutely ripped up my stomach and I couldn't take it long.
All of a sudden something new and different. For the past week, I've woken up with a stabbing pain behind right eye. If I leave it, it spreads to an all-over throb and nausea. I've been taking OTC Tylenol migraine, two full doses a day, but that upsets my stomach. It doesn't stop the pain, either. It just kills it back to a light eye throb, which slooooowly increases in intensity again.
I thought it might be dehydration/dry sinuses, but a humidifier + lots of water isn't helping. I'm getting plenty of sleep...I just can't imagine why these have come on so suddenly and WILL NOT LEAVE. I've spend hours in bed daily for the past week (work from home, thankfully) but no sign of it going away. My stomach hurts constantly from the meds. I guess I'm going to call my doctor soon, even though she's booking 7 months out right now. Any improvements in migraine meds since the days of Imitrex? My stomach is really sensitive. Has anyone experienced stabby-eye migraines...any advice?
