My experience-So much pain tonight 🤕

It's been almost 9 months now since I was diagnosed with Occipital Neuralgia and Mixed Migraine Disorder. I just keep failing treatments. I'm on disability from work, waiting on a referral to a pain management specialist for nerve blocks. 2 rounds of Botox, on my second month of Aimovig after Nurtec stopped working. Not allowed to use any OTC meds. Flexeril stopped working. I've had too many steroid rounds, my Dr said it's causing my immune system to get weak. I asked my neurologist if I could try a different triptan since sumatriptan was a bust, and he said no, pain blocks are what I need.

Meanwhile things are starting to get bad again. I wake up to tinnitus, Occipital irritation about an hour later that triggers a migraine and hour after that and I'm just useless, and in so much pain. Ice isn't helping anymore, it starts to make things worse within minutes. I used to ice my head for hours, but now it's just another fail.

So no more steroids, NSAIDs, triptans, ice...my temples are just pulsating, the tinnitus is so loud and any little sound makes me cringe, a migraine has settled right above my neck at the bottom of my skull and I feel like there's nothing I can do about it.

I'm not supposed to take Benadryl because of the sleepy interaction with my nighttime meds, but I'm desperate. I swear, getting an HMO plan was the worst decision. I can't wait for January and my PPO to take effect. Waiting on referrals has been the majority of my time since this all started.

Thanks for reading. I know at least someone here understands.
