My experience-Neighbor's Incessant Lawn Care is Driving Me Insane

My fiancé and I bought a house and moved in at the beginning of this year and, for the most part, it's been wonderful. I love the house, the location, and for the most part the neighbors. On one side is a family with 3 kids who run an in-home daycare for family friends. Lots of kids running around, but I work in a preschool so the abundance of kids in the back isn't new to me.

And then, on the other side, there's Mark.

Mark is a crotchety, retired, chain-smoking old man who has nothing better to do with his time than take care of his yard. The spring is...fine. but in the summer, he mows every other day, and makes us feel negligent if we don't do the same thing (even though the grass in his front yard was scorched). He sits in his lawn for hours cutting out any individual weeds with a pocket knife. He also comes into our yard and cuts down anything he doesn't like the look of: we've had to shoo him away from our pretty lilac bushes multiple times now... Apparently, the people who lived here before us just let him do whatever. But we're not them.

Anyway. This is the first Fall we've spent in this house, and Mark is already driving me insane. He grabs his leaf blower and cleans up his yard and driveway every. Fucking. Hour. The high pitched whine of the motor can be heard from every single room of our old, rickety house. I can't escape it, and no amount of us asking will make him stop. My head feels like it's been mounted on an apple peeler, and Mark's leaf blower is twisting and compressing and peeling away my sanity and patience. The pain is overwhelming, and I feel like I can't do anything in my own home besides lie in my bed with earplugs in and hope that either the leaves stop falling, or Mark gets too tired to keep going.

Mark: you suck. You suck so, so, so much. And please, please stop blowing your goddamn leaves into our yard: the wind is just going to blow them back into yours eventually. If you hate them so much, at least bag them up and send them away???
