My experience-Whiskey really helped my migraine the other day and now wtf bc I dont want to be an alcoholic

Why? Why me? So I have a rule in my apartment no alcohol bc I am at risk for kidney disease and my boyfriend doesnt listen. So we moved into an apartment that has a small wet bar in the living room. Its like a sink area to store shot glasses and a decanter. Super old school but its $400 cheaper than our last place so we snagged it. Then my bf is as gifted a huge bottle of whiskey for Christmas and of course he just has it posted up where it "belongs". I didnt grab a sip of it until it was almost gone. My dad came over for Christmas and was educating me on how Whiskey is stored in some fragrant wooden barrel. So that might be the botanical reason why it knocked my migrane out. I didnt pay attention to what he said. But it was this past Friday when I had a really rough day, I decided let me just take a stupid shot of Whiskey and low and behold like magic my migraine was gone. Im hoping someone knows the botanical reason why whiskey is fragrant. So maybe I can get some tree sap and not have to turn into the alcoholic aunty. Please. What's the tea? Is is maple?
