My experience-Migraines causing medical trauma
I’ve had a hard time finding literature on trauma caused by migraines. There’s plenty on migraines and PTSD, as in PTSD sufferers having migraines as a result of their PTSD, or an interconnection between the two conditions, but nothing about the trauma of the pain and suffering of actual migraines themselves and the treatment of these patients in the medical system, especially treatment-resistant migraines. I have been traumatized by both the pain/vomiting itself, my increasing intolerance to medications and thus no rescue relief, and the way I’ve been treated by doctors and “healers” of all modalities— if their methods don’t work, it must be your fault.
Just interested if anyone else has found articles or writings related to this specifically, or wants to share/vent their own experience. Please no advice about migraine/ PTSD treatments or whatever psychological thing to cope, thank you.
