My experience-I don't always get migraines, but when I do...

It always lasts exactly one day. Nothing I do on that day helps it go away. I don't get them as often as some people, but on days I have them that day is fucked. And when I wake up the next day it's gone.

Mine have been triggered by sleep changes, stress, changes in caffeine, grinding my teeth. I try cold/warm compresses, acetaminophen (can't do NSAIDS), treating areas that might be the culprit (neck, jaw, etc.), caffeine when I haven't had any. Nothing works except going to sleep that night and waking up the next day.

I suppose I don't know how common or rare this is, other health issues have been ruled out. I know some people have episodes lasting multiple days, and some people have the excruciatingly painful ones that send them to the hospital thinking something is horribly wrong.

Mine aren't severe, but they aren't dull. I can eat breakfast lunch and dinner, I don't throw up, but I don't really do shit otherwise on migraine days.

I guess I'm just venting. I don't have it as bad as some of you and I'm sorry for what you're going through. But mine really piss me off. I can even be in kind of a good mood while having a migraine, but as soon as I try to get up to do anything I enjoy my head is like "lol fuck you"
