My experience-Getting off SSRIs = migraine trigger?
I know SSRIs are used to help migraines, so I think I already know the answer. I’ve been trying to get off of SSRIs since June, and I’ve only managed to switch from Paxil to prozac with horrible withdrawal.
Once I stabilized on prozac, I started to lower the dose and, big surprise, migraines were back in around 6 days.
Has this happened to anyone else? How do you even discontinue SSRIs if they induce migraines?
I’ve been referred to a neurologist and was prescribed sumatriptan, which seems to work well.
