My experience-CGRP Blockers and Changes in Migraine
Has anyone else noticed significant changes in their migraine patterns after taking Ubrelvy or Nurtec as an abortive for a while?
Prior to starting on Ubrelvy, my migraines were bad but pretty typical. They usually had clear triggers, they happened once or twice a week, they involved severe one-sided head pain and occasional nausea.
Over the past year, they’ve become completely unpredictable and fairly constant. Additionally, I developed all sorts of other symptoms: dizziness, visual snow, trouble focusing eyes, digestive issues, tinnitus, and whole body inflammation/strange pain sensations.
I’ve been going to all sorts of specialists to try to get to the bottom of these symptoms, but haven’t gotten any answers.
Then I discovered a series of articles about the impact of blocking CGRP on other bodily systems. This one in particular grabbed my attention, as it seems to describe many of my new issues. https://jnnp.bmj.com/content/92/12/1325
Very eager to find answers and would love to hear if anyone else has had a similar experience!
