My experience-Lost all hope of any medication working, recommendations?
TL:DR - medication/treatment options recommendations? I've tried tons already, nothing works.
Been a migraine sufferer for 5years, they started with just dizziness and eye pain, gradually got worse.
I have tension headaches daily, experience ice pick headaches regularly, and then get very long very severe attacks like 7/10 pain for 3-5days at a time.
I've tried Propanolol, Sumitriptan, Naproxen (for pain relief short term), Amitryptline (couldn't sleep had horrible hallucinations), Candesartan (did nothing) and most recently Zolmitriptan/ Zomig (only 2.5mg, but i almost always end up taking another 2hrs later so really 5mg)
None of these medications have made a dent. I am unemployed, essentially housebound, i experience light sensitivity daily, noise sensitivity daily, dizziness constantly and cannot stand longer than 2minutes.
Today i am having a horrible migraine attack, took the Zomig and it literally only made the migraine worse for 3hrs, before i took paracetamol (ibuprofen, aspirin etc don't work and since they're harsh on your stomach anyway i just don't bother anymore), which also hasn't helped.
Zomig makes me feel like my body has been hit by a bus, I've been waiting to be sick for 4hrs, no dice yet, and it's added a fire like burning sensation to the existing pain. Which I've found triptans seem to do.
My next step will be to ask my gp for another neuro referral, but any recommendations and advice would be much appreciated.
Especially since on the NHS I'm defo not getting that appointment for at least 6 months lol
EDIT: today's also been a migraine with Aura day, my left eye is pretty much useless today very flashy, but the pain is all on the right.
