My experience-Real talk… how do I cope?

All right, folks, I’m relatively new to the headache life, and I’m dealing with new daily persistent headache rather than migraine. But I’m hoping you kind of people might have some wisdom to offer anyway. How do I… manage to live my daily life when I’m in this much pain all the time? I’ve been slowly ticking off the boxes from healthcare providers; they keep ruling dire things out (I don’t have a tumor! So, good news I guess?). But unfortunately, they aren’t offering any solutions.

At this point I’ve been in 24/7 pain for four months, and on the one hand I’ve kind of gotten used to it enough that sometimes it can fade into the background and I can still get things done. But on the other hand, My work performance is seriously struggling; my boss is a migraine sufferer her herself so understands what I’m dealing with, but it’s a certain point I just hurt so much that I don’t have the energy to care that I’m doing a terrible terrible job. Part of me wishes she would fire me just so that I could feel less guilty about how all is in capable of is lying around in pain.

I’m doing the things I’m supposed to do; I’m going back to the neurologist for a follow up, and I’ve got a referral for a new headache doctor. But I don’t have those appointments for another three weeks to a month. What do I do in the meantime? How do you cope when nothing helps?

I don’t actually assume that you guys can magically offer me something miraculous. But I guess I wanted to post anyway to not feel quite so alone.
