My experience-Am I freaking myself out for nothing or is this a cause for concern?
Tl;dr: New type of headache that only occurs in the morning. Feels like a constant, all over pressure with almost immediate relief upon fully sitting up or standing. Completely dissipates (without medication) after 5 minutes of standing. FREAKING ME THE HECK OUT.
Stats: 29 yo. female. BP: 90/60ish (this is completely normal for me) Non-smoker. 9-12 migraines a month. Triptans are highly effective.
Migraines have been a part of my life since I was about 8 so I know mine very, very well. This started happening about a month-ish ago. First time I assumed it was just a rare morning migraine (mine always come on in the late afternoon/evening) and sat up to take a triptan. I realized after taking it my head just.... didn't hurt anymore? Which is SUPER weird and not at all like my normal pattern.
Neuro thinks it might be something with my occipital nerve so I've tried to be aware of positioning of my head when it happens. Position/elevation of my head makes no impact unless I'm fully sitting up or standing. Almost feels like the pressure need to lessen in my head by allowing the blood to drain by standing.
Just super weird. I sent her a message about updating my imaging but in the mean time - curious if anyone else experiences this?
