My experience-Has anyone found anything that helps with chronic migraines

I’ve gotten migraines since first grade and I’m now 19 in college. I am so desperate. I used to take excedrin but it never really helped. I now take rizatriptan when I feel a migraine coming on which helps with the pain, but I’ve been getting migraines more frequently than ever. A neurologist suggested I try topiramate, a daily prescription that is an anti-seizure medication, but I didn’t like the side effects like causing birth defects on top of making hormonal birth control less effective… so I never tried taking it. I am currently looking into getting a daith piercing, so if anyone has opinions or experiences on that I’d appreciate. If anyone has anything they have found to work to prevent migraines I would love to hear it!
