My experience-Uphill battle

I’ve (24F) been battling chronic migraines/cluster headaches for nearly a decade. Insurance changes every other year it seems, and I finally got a neurologist who listens, cares, and takes time to explain things to me!

She wanted to try for Nurtec and Botox. I had tried for Botox before, but always been rejected, even though I have 25+ migraine days a month. In the meantime, she sent me home with a few Nurtec tablets and they worked wonders! She wanted me to keep taking them every other day as a preventative, and surprise, insurance won’t supply that many. Only 8 a month.

Botox was approved yesterday! And it’s going to cost 1,800$ each time. Why does every prescription and treatment have to cost so much or be outright rejected. I should add that this is the U.S. (of course).

How do y’all work through the constant hurdles?
