My experience-My second worst migraine….

By which I mean worst… the “worst one” is always the next one… I’ve had ones with longer duration and ones with more severe pain but never one that potentially caused so much harm to me or others as last night

It came more or less out of nowhere, though I didn’t have coffee or tea yesterday which can sometimes trigger a “normal” headache and it was really bright out and I spent most of the day driving into the sun. I had a bit of an aura but stupid me tried to finish my route (only six more clients then I can go home!) and actually started vomiting before I got head pain. Since vomiting makes it better about 2/3 of the time I’m like ok go you. Did a client…(I’m a pharmacy nurse who delivers medication and administers it to clients) back in car… vomited a block later. Got through two more clients and the vomiting interval is increasing and the pain came on and I took the highway like I always do then had to pull over between two exits and fill my 20 ounce travel mug twice with vomit and phone my co worker to finish the last 4 clients.

Did I mention that at some point in the vomiting I managed a fart plus and stained my ceil blue scrub pants? After I got off the highway I pulled into a little blind alley changed my pants between the open doors of front and back managed to lose my balance and take a fall on asphalt and scrape my knees and get pebbles in my palms too.

When my co worker met me I handed off my last sheets and packages but forgot to give her the keys. I went back to the pharmacy dropped off the keys and threw up in the parking lot again. Then slept an hour before I woke up and drove home.

I looked at myself when I got home. Bloodshot eyes bloody knees palms all scratched up puke in my hair. Glad I didn’t go scare my last few clients like that.

Today I’m fine. But I’m restocking my car kit and getting new wrap around sunglasses. (My helpful son cleaned out my car last week before a road trip. Unfortunately that meant my migraine emergency kit was in my garage yesterday)
