The exact cause of migraines is unknown, but they're thought to be the result of abnormal brain activity temporarily affecting nerve signals, chemicals and blood vessels in the brain.

Does anyone else have this problem? I feel like it's something that I can't talk about without being labeled a covid denier.
Masks are still compulsory in public spaces in my country. Wearing a mask that puts pressure on my ears or scalp or restricts my breathing can trigger a migraine. Wearing a surgical or medical grade mask that emits chemical fumes can trigger a migraine.
I find myself excluding myself from public spaces and events because wearing a mask might trigger a migraine. I've recently been wearing some thin stretchy cloth masks and its better but not fool proof.
I've just recently been told that I'm likely going to need to travel internationally for work. On at least 14 hours of international flights + many hours in airports. Masked. Cloth masks not acceptable on those airlines/airports. And then days at an event where masks will also be required.
I'm feeling incredibly stressed, anxious, sick about the thought of having to do this. I've indefinitely postponed personal travel for this reason. I don't know how to raise it with management without coming across like a crazy person or a malingerer. Someone else could go in my place (its a conference type event) but it will still look bad for me. Migraines are not recognized as a disability in my country. I had a stress induced migraine today because of all this.
I don't even know why I'm posting this. I guess I just want to know that I'm not alone? Feeling very hopeless right now.
