First period after giving birth : Women-care

I feel like im bleeding way too much. Wet through 10 Maxi pads in a day, I breathe and i bleed through my pad, underwear and pants. Some people say its normal to have heavy period after giving birth but like is it normal for me to bleed so much to point that i go through one whole pad if i get up from bed. I try getting up from a chair or bed and i instantly feel the blood gushing out.
