My experience-I'm having my first long migraine and don't know what to do
Before last week, the only migraines I've ever had lasted for a couple of hours. They were mostly caused by sensory issues (I'm autistic) Last Tuesday, I got a migraine and it hasn't gone away. Not for a single second. I went to the ER over it. They gave me pain meds that helped with the pain, but it didn't help with any other symptoms. I was prescribed Ondansetron Ketorolac, and Oxycodone-Acetaminophen, but was only prescribed enough to last a couple of days. I've been trying to stretch out doses, but when I do it gets worse. My partner scheduled an appointment with a neurologist, but the only opening was over a month from now and I don't know what to do in the meantime. Over-the-counter products aren't working. I can barely function. Sitting up, eating, and even typing this makes me feel like I'm going to throw up and pass out. The meds they prescribed get rid of the pain, but none of the other symptoms. The pain doesn't feel like it goes away. It feels like my brain is revving up an engine and waiting for the pain to come back. Blood tests at the hospital said nothing was wrong. MRI and CAT showed nothing. I'm terrified they're not going to listen to the severity of this, assume I'm trying to get drugs, or that it will never go away. I don't know what to do. I can't keep any food down. Everything I do makes it worse. Nothing is really helping.
