My mom has had severe, disabling migraines since I was about 6-8 (32/M). She would have been about 36-38 at the time. She basically said the migraine has never ended, just goes up or down in intensity. She has tried just about every med, treatment, exercise, diet, or surgery under the sun with limited success.

My question(s) are about myself, although I sure wish there was something I could ask and pass along to her.

I've noticed the last few years that I will get normal headaches more frequently than I used to. I know I'm approaching the age where my mom's migraines started.

-Would you say that I am more likely to develop migraines due to genetics? -And, did anyone develop migraines gradually from regular headaches or was it a more sudden condition like my mom's? -Is there anything I can do to delay or lessen an eventual migraine diagnosis?
