My experience-Coffee as a preventive?

So I have never been a big coffee drinker, but recently I've realized that if I take even a small amount of coffee, I will feel great that day and don't develope a headache, or the one I have will go away.

However, this isn't a solution isn't it. I've read that coffee is highly addictive and your body gets used to a daily dose pretty quickly, after which you are taking it only to feel like you felt without coffee before.

This is disheartening, but has any of you had luck with this? I'm thinking that maybe taking it on alternate days might work. Or even, maybe I'm wrong and a small daily dose is all I need.

I really want to make this work because I've never felt as good as I did these few days. I can go a whole day at the office without feeling like shit! And I even have energy!! Who knew life was this easy when you're not feeling like death every waking second

TLDR: any advice on how to keep getting the benefits of coffee without developing a tolerance?
