My experience-Tension headache/migraine cycle (HELP 🥲)

Had an intense week long migraine starting January first, and since then I’ve been stuck in a cycle of tension headaches that cause migraines that cause tension headaches etc etc etc.

I wake up with a stiff neck and headache everyday. I go to bed with a headache nearly everyday. All kinds of pain in between. Ice pick headaches. Thunderclap. Normally the pain is doable, around a 2-3, until it triggers a migraine or I have a moment of strong pain that fades away quickly.

I’m dizzy a lot. My head goes numb when I laugh. I’ve almost passed out when standing up twice in the past couple of months (vision goes black and my ears get hot). My nose drains consistently (never happened before the headaches persisted).

Had blood work done and a sinus X-ray. All good. Tried propanolol (didn’t work) sumatriptan (didn’t work and bad side effects) and now I’m onto trying aimovig if my insurance approves it, but I’m so scared of the pain from injecting or that I’m going to do it wrong 😭😭

Has anyone found a way out of this cycle? It’s been four months and it’s draining. Sorry for the long post and vent, I’m just aggravated.
