My experience-Question for women taking Emgality injections

A little bit of backstory before I get into my question… I’m 25 years old and I’ve been suffering from migraines since I was around 10 years old. Ever since I had my first child almost 2 years ago it seems like the migraines are becoming more frequent and worse. I finally decided to seek help from my primary care doctor. After going through several different medicines we finally decided on Emgality. I had my first injection almost 2 weeks ago, and I will have my second monthly injection tomorrow. Then I will start doing the monthly injections as normal.

Now to my question, I started it on a Monday and by Thursday my period started. Which caught me by surprise because my period wasn’t due for for another 10 days. I’ve been on birth control for over a year now so my period are pretty on schedule and when I do have them they are very light sometimes I don’t even bleed. Well, like I said I had a period Thursday but figured maybe it was just early and would only last a day or so. Well here I am 10 days later and I’m still on my period. This is very unusual for me. I did some research and they say that sometimes the injection will cause your period to start, but I find it strange that I’ve been bleeding this long.
