My experience-First time Imitrex side effects, should I try it again?

I was recently prescribed 50mg imitrex to treat a migraine, and I took it for the first time a few days ago. Around 45 minutes after taking it, the muscles in my neck, jaw, and tongue were so tense and stiff it was difficult to talk and I was so dizzy I couldn't go to work. The side effects did go away after about 4 hours, but it didn't seem to help with the migraine much at all... My GP wants me to try taking half the dose, but I'm a little nervous to do so... Is it worth it to try again or should I ask to try something else entirely?
