My experience-Scared about side effect and don’t know what to do

I posted about a month ago about losing color in my toes, having them turn purple with sores and having shooting pains. It all started after I started taking Aimovig (which also has been the only thing to help with my migraines in years).

My neurologist didn’t know what was wrong. My GP said it’s Raynaud’s disease and he has seen it before in people taking Aimovig and similar. I found an article in the Journal of Headache and Pain saying this is a rare side effect of Aimovig and can be very serious. But, I told my neurologist and his nurse just responded that it was unrelated and I could keep taking it.

I’m supposed to take an injection today and I don’t think I should. I don’t want to go against my neurologist or argue with him, but I’m scared I could lose my toes or be left with this permanently if I take it again. It’s scary how much pain i was in just last night and the discoloration happening with my toes and it seems very related to the medicine.

I’m sitting here trying not to cry because it’s the only thing that’s helped me, I want to trust my neurologist but I really think it’s a bad idea to keep taking it.

If nothing else, I just wanted to say this to someone who understands how hard it is to be in daily pain and how desperately I want something to help, and the last thing I want to do is have to beg my Neuro to take me seriously with scary side effects and to stop taking the one thing that might help my migraines 🙁
