My experience-Feeling absolutely drained from this stuck migraine cycle

It started on Saturday. The pain itself would start mid-afternoon and get worse as the night went on. Made it hard to get much done. I did my at-home “migraine cocktail” two days in a row (Advil + naratriptan + caffeine + water/Gatorade). I’d already done this treatment once last week so I was worried about overdoing it and possibly developing triptan resistance.

I finally messaged my nurse practitioner on Monday evening, explained what was going on. I suggested a prednisone bridge since I’ve had some success with that in the past, but also said I’d be open to other suggestions. She sent the prednisone order to my pharmacy and I picked it up and started it yesterday.

But of course, it’s not an instant fix so I was in hell last night and I can feel it coming on again as I type this. I’m just so tired of being in pain for days on end with little hope of relief in sight. My only saving grace is that I work from roughly 8 to 4 and it hasn’t impacted my work for the most part.
