My experience-Aura/Ocular migraine went away after 6 months
Hello everybody,
I just joined the subreddit and it is nice to see people with similiar experiences. My story is confusing to me and i wanted to ask you guys about your opinion.
I (24 M) 3 years ago had my first ocular migraine with aura. It just happened out of complete nowhere, first starting on the side of my vision expanding into a half circle with pulsating zig zags very often desribed here. After the first attack of my life the migraines were happening several times per week so i went to the doctor, had an MRI (no additional problems found) and I was prescribed sumatriptan. Over the next 6 months the migraines were happening a couple of times per week and for the worst ones i would take the prescribed sumatriptan which helped but didnt get rid of all the pain or numbness.
Over the next few months the migraines started happening less and now it has been 2 years without them. I didn't change my lifestyle that much so i am wondering if there is a chance the migraines are gone forever or if they are gonna come back. To be honest having them for the first time was one of the most traumatizing experiences for me. Very scary when you do not know what is going on. Is there any research on this (basically migraines in remmision) or is there somebody with the same experience?
Only thing that has stayed after is that after heavy physical activity, sometimes my vision in the exact spot that the visual aura used to start has a small blind circle that looks the exact same like if you stare into the sunfor too long. But this is very small goes away in a couple of seconds and there is no pain or migraine.
So basically is there a chance that the migraines are gone? Thank you very much for any input.
