My experience-Taking Triptans late in the migraine
I’ve only had this prescription for a few months, still figuring it out. So the instructions I got were to take Triptan when the headache starts and potentially again in two hours. For me, the headache isn’t the worst part, but I get lots of other aura effects (nausea, fatigue, drowsy, dizzy, trouble thinking/speaking, light/sound sensitive, a feeling of waves going through my head). So I’m having trouble timing the meds around the “start” of the migraine.
Sometimes I try sticking it out at work on just excedrin just to come home and realize how impaired I am. Do any of yall find it effective to take the meds 5-6 hours in? I’ve had some side effects so I don’t want to spuriously experiment if it won’t help.
