My experience-Cervicogenic getting worse?

I have been getting cervicogenic headaches 2-5 times month for 5yrs, but it was only recently diagnosed (previously it was dx as tension).

I've found that in the last ~6mths the pain at the peak of the worst day is worse than ever, like I'm almost ready to go to the ER for pain help. Do they get worse normally? I went from a 6-7 to an 8-9 out of 10 on pain scale. I'm told I tolerate pain too long, though.

I'm starting PT this month and I'm going to ask my Dr about pain relief, including nerve blocks. In the past I've been given meds that do nothing. I take Advil just b/c I feel like I should, but it really doesn't touch it. Alternating heat and cold helps, but only with providing some comfort.

I ordered an orthopedic pillow and I'm looking for anything else. Has anyone tried cervical collars or those posture sling things? I am doing the neck strengthening exercises and I get regular massage therapy now as well. I was also getting chiro treatments, but I'm exchanging that for PT for the time being (trying to extend my benefit coverage).

I know this sub won't be full of people who have fixed or found permanent relief, but I'm hoping there will be some who have! Thank you!
