My experience-Has anyone talked to their WFH-resistant employer? Tips?

Have any of you had luck transitioning into a hybrid or WFH role with an employer that really hates the idea? I've talked to HR a bit about it (but not mentioning it's because of my migraines cuz I'm an idiot) and they get really upset by the idea of me even considering the possibility. However, I know the head of my department is open to the idea. I'm not quite sure how to approach the subject but bright/fluorescent lighting really makes my condition worse and I need to get my migraines under control. I take too much pain medication just to function and can't continue down this path.

TIA for any suggestions.
