My experience-Daily chronic headaches since August - nothing helps

I was diagnosed with migraines in 2017 so I’ve been seeing a neurologist, but since August 2022 I’ve been dealing with headaches pretty much every day.

My neurologist tried changing my migraine medications (was on Aimovig monthly and Nurtec PRN- switched the Ajovy and Nurtec every other day) and when that didn’t cut it added Namenda, which previously helped me. That was in October (up to the max dose of Namenda XR now) and still no changes. Also tried ketorolac and steroids multiple times with only temporary relief (the day I stopped taking the medication, the headache returned). I wound up in the ER in November when my pain was off the charts and I was so dizzy I couldn’t even stand. There, they insisted IV fluids and that special IV migraine killer would fix everything. But it didn’t even cut the pain, and they sent me home with a prescription for meclizine (which doesn’t work). Also tried several IV magnesium drips, with again only temporary relief.

In October, I started physical therapy and seeing a chiropractor. I received very temporary relief but stuck with it until the insurance cut me about 3 weeks ago. Since ending physical therapy my headaches has come back worse than before. Heating pads and ice packs don’t help either.

When I was first diagnosed with my migraines we tried topiramate and propranolol, neither of which worked. I should also add several trials of triptans made me feel worse and I cannot take amitriptyline due to an interaction with my psychiatric medications. Namenda was the last-resort than and luckily worked but this time isn’t doing anything.

Also worth noting, I’ve had normal blood tests, and a MRI, MRA, MRV, and CT were all normal.

At this point I’m pretty much disabled from my pain. Some days I can’t even get out of bed without severe nausea (Zofran doesn’t help it) and dizziness. Days when I can get out bed, I’m still in severe pain. I have an appointment with my neurologist this week and am wondering what else can I ask be done. I’m sick of this.
