My experience-Amitriptyline side effects

Hello fellow migraineurs. Over the past year, my migraine frequency has increased to an average of about 2 days/week, and sumatriptan has become less effective as an abortive/rescue med. I saw my PCP about it earlier this week and she prescribed 10mg amitriptyline as a preventive. I haven't started taking it yet because I'm anxious about possible side effects. Can folks who have had experience with amitriptyline (either positive or negative) please share what it was like for you?

I'm mainly concerned about weight gain and sexual side effects. I'm already on an SSRI, have struggled with weight my entire adult life, and have a low sex drive. My PCP assured me that I'm unlikely to experience these side effects significantly at such a low dose. If the amitriptyline doesn't help, my next step may be seeing a neurologist to explore other options.

I would love to hear your thoughts, warnings, or (hopefully) reassurances. Thank you!
