My experience-weight gain on propranolol?

I've started propranolol as a preventative, 20mg a day, pretty low dose. I am wondering if water retention is something anyone has experienced on this medication, at low doses?

I have not experienced that, but read it can happen.

I already really struggle with bloating and fluid retention before I get my period, so I really don't want to add insult to injury. Especially if it's not even going to work at this dose, or if they intend to increase it. I'd rather try another route.

If it helps the migraines at this dose, I'll take a few extra pounds, no question. But my blood pressure is already so low I really can't afford to increase my dose as it is.

Thanks for any feedback
