My experience-Migraines and the weather

Hey everyone,

I’m new to the sub. I got diagnosed with vestibular migraines and POTS in July of this year. Until then, I wasn’t aware that migraines are primarily a sensory issue, and that I’d been suffering from them in some capacity both with and without headaches. I thought I just had REALLY bad allergies 🙃. Over the summer, I knew something was wrong because I started experiencing super bad dizziness, sensitivity to light and sound, pressure behind my eyes, and auras resulting in me losing my vision briefly on a couple of occasions. I had other symptoms as well, but these seemed to be the primary migraine symptoms. My Dr. put me on Topamax which was a GAME CHANGER. I felt so much better. I still had headaches on occasion, but the auras and pressure behind my eyes pretty much disappeared. Fast forward to about two weeks ago where the seasons are starting to change again where I live. My auras are back and it feels like someone is in my head squeezing my eyeballs. I talked to my Dr. and he thinks it’s the change in season. I’m just curious if anyone else has experienced this or if this is something I have to look forward to every few months. If so, any tips on how to make the transition go more smoothly? I feel like I’m back at square one with being able to see clearly.
