My experience-Budget friendly or creative ways to make my home more migraine friendly?

Earlier this month, I was laid off from my job of over 11 years. After assessing my finances, rearranging budgets, and considering the demands of a career change bootcamp I recently enrolled in, I’ve decided I’m going to try to float myself as long as I can through the bootcamp without a full time job, and therefore, without health insurance. I still have coverage for several weeks, so I plan to squeeze in some last minute follow ups and stock up on medication if they’ll allow me to, but I’ll ultimately need to brace for a stretch of time without the safety net of my insurance benefits.

That being said, I’m wondering about some budget friendly or unexpected/creative ways others have made their homes and daily routines more migraine friendly (even better if it’s in the context of being a student in some way, whether formally or informally, like in the case of a career change bootcamp).

My biggest migraine triggers are: - Hormonal Cycles - not much I can do there I guess :( - Posture - looking down too much, sitting at or being hunched over a desk for too long (this a particularly significant concern since I’ll be doing a lot of studying at a desk for this career change bootcamp), moving into twisted positions in my sleep, etc. - Strong chemical smells like cleaning solutions, sprays - Extended heat and sun exposure - maybe not relevant for home improvements, but listing it anyway. At least it’s moving towards cooler weather here.

And in case it’s helpful to others, below are some things I have at home to make attacks a little less awful: - A ton of ice packs, of course - Candles set in deep, opaque containers to block sight of the flame itself (I use these specifically for showering in almost total darkness - my balance is not great with a migraine, and adding that to a slick floor seems like a bad idea, so the candles give me just enough indirect light to avoid certain disaster. - Some cheap light strips hidden on the underside of my kitchen cabinets when I need to avoid the bright overhead light - A sit-stand converter/platform thing on top of my desk surface - it’s sort of limited in how much I can adjust it however. - A heated, neck cradling, plug in massager - my migraine pain map usually extends down my neck, through my shoulders and upper back.

Thanks for any other ideas you can offer :)
