My experience-What is going on with Nurtec in Canada?
Despite people saying it's coming soon for years now, there seems to be no release on the horizon & there is little to no information about Nurtec approval in Canada online. The drug product database has no listing for Nurtec/rimegepant, and the only articles I can find on this topic are a March 2020 article saying availability in Canada is "expected within the next year" (it has been 2 years and obviously this has still not happened), and a more recent article saying they "might be available in 2022" (no signs of this happening either).
I'm very curious if anyone knows more about what is holding up the approval and release of Nurtec in Canada. I was very surprised to see that Vyepti, which was approved by the US FDA around the same time as Nurtec, was already been approved by Health Canada over a year ago, which makes the Nurtec situation even more confusing. Did Health Canada deny approval for Nurtec or something? I'm wondering if it is ever coming to Canada at this point.
