My experience-My neurologist's recommations for preventatives and my result
NOTE: This is not medical advice, and like all posts, you should discuss this with your neurologist before using it.
My hope is that people who do not want to use medicines or do not have health insurance may benefit from this post.
The last time I got botox, my neurologist recommended two things. I'm not trying to push a specific supplement, so I am starting with the ingredients so you can make your own if you like.
Magnesium 750+ mg daily (she emphasized that it needs to be that or higher). In my case, with the 250mg below, I actually take 500mg of magnesium.
Migraine preventatives (daily)
Magnesium 500mg
plus:
Vitamin C 600mg Vitamin B-1 Thiamine 50mg Vitamin B-2 Riboflavin 200mg Vitamin B-5 30mg Vitamin B-6 12mg Copper 500mcg Magnesium Glycinate 250mg Quercetin 100mg Feverfew extract 10:1 100mg Butterbur 75mg CoQ10 75mg Ginger 10mg
The above all come with "Migraine Assist", if you want to just buy it off Amazon.
My results:
Previous to using the above, I'd need the botox to control the migraines, which it did for about 7 weeks, leaving me to use triptans pretty much daily to function for the remaining 2 weeks before I could get botox again . I also had a problem from the botox once, the neurologist that put it on one time missed the botox points and caused me to look like a robot with weak face expressions.
Once I'd been on the above for about 3 weeks, my migraines became weaker, and eventually stopped altogether.
