My experience-A Migraine Poem

Today is one of those days, a migraine gets me down. What a palindrome, is the post drome, an unwelcome fog hanging around

Sometimes these headaches feel like “the devil’s work” but it’s really just another opportunity to not get burnt…

Take a rest rather than let your flame burnout. Take it easy, rather than cry and shout. And when you have to, let it all out…

But come back around the breathing, to loving, to living, to grieving, to celebrating again, another time to try again.

Sometimes it’s hard to get excited, because I don’t want disappointment to get me down. As I keep going and keep flowing, I know a migraine will still come around.

I can’t make plans, I feel guilty for being unreliable. But I’m reliable to myself, and that’s the best I can ever choose.

I got my Axon Optics migraine glasses, I got my alarm clock on snooze. I’ll take my CBD and coffee, I’ll probably pass on the booze.

I got a cute pup by my side, who I’ll walk later when I feel better… what a surprise!

Because I always do when the sun starts to go down, the migraine passes and a cautious smile comes out of my frown.

I know one day I’ll look back and remember the days when… It was this hard to keep going. And I’ll be glad I did.

Sincerely, A Migraine Warrior
