My experience-Migraine not going away after 5+ weeks
I’ve had a migraine that results in on and off severe pain on the right side of my head for 5.5 weeks. It’s accompanied with nausea and vertigo. These are my only symptoms, which is very different than my typical migraine symptoms.
I saw my neurologist 2 weeks ago, who basically said there’s nothing else we can do right now. At that appointment we discontinued the Aimovig, changed the Nurtec to every other day (previously my abortive) and added Namenda 5mg BID. The Namenda has worked well for me previously, but at much higher doses. We tried a steroid pack, Benadryl, and Tramadol all before changing my regimen, all of which did nothing. A brain MRI, VNG, and lab work all came back normal, VEMP results pending.
Does anyone have anything else I can do or try? My next appointment isn’t until the end of October (my doctor said at that point we’d be able to increase the Namenda), but I really don’t want to be in severe pain that long.
