My experience-Blood work went horribly wrong and I need to vent

Before I get into the story, I just want to preface that by saying that I have an appointment with neurology tomorrow, I just need to vent about the situation.

Yesterday I was at the rheumatologist and he wanted me to go for some blood work on my way out of the office. I get blood work done probably once a month, so it isn't a big deal for me - getting blood drawn doesn't bother me. That being said, I have difficult veins and it often takes them a few minutes to find a good vein, but I've never had any problems. Until yesterday.

After trying both arms unsuccessfully, the nurse went back to the first arm she tried and started to do that thing where they wiggle the needle around to find the vein. It hurt a lot more than normal, so I told her. As soon as I said that, I thought I was having a stroke or something because the most excruciating pain I've ever felt in my life went shooting up my arm. By the time it reached my shoulder, I passed out from the pain and then threw up.

Turns out the nurse hit a nerve while she was digging for a vein, so now I have to get evaluated for nerve damage. I finally had my migraines (somewhat) under control and now I'm terrified that my they're going to go batshit crazy because of this. I can feel the nerve pain shooting up my arm and into my shoulder, so I'm just waiting for my migraines to go haywire. Thanks to all of this, I had a severe panic attack last night, which I've never had before. And to make matters worse, I still have to get the blood work done but now I'm terrified of a needle coming near me.

I'm already being treated for lupus as well as a pituitary tumor, so this is just adding to my anxiety about my health. It's hard enough keeping myself healthy with lupus and a tumor, but now I have a whole new set of problems to deal with too. I'm so angry and upset and frustrated right now all I can do is cry.

TL;DR The nurse hit a nerve trying to draw blood yesterday and now I'm scared about how this will affect my migraines.
