My experience-At what point do you stay home from work?

What does it take for you to call in? I’ve had aura without headache multiple times a week since childhood, and I go to work with my vision all wonky on the regular. I also get classical migraines and I usually draw the line at vomiting - if I vomit, I stay home. If I don’t vomit, I go to work and try to be productive through the pain, nausea, light and sound sensitivity, etc. Today though, I chose differently, and even though I didn’t vomit, I stayed home. It was such a nice change to just be able to take care of myself and not push through, but I couldn’t help but feel guilty, since I’d normally show up with these symptoms. So now I’m wondering - when do others stay home?
