My experience-Taking HRT when you have Migraine?
I am a perimenopausal woman of 45 and last year I started HRT. I use body identical patches containing Estrodial and body Identical micronized progesterone capsules that I take vaginally (I get these on the NHS in the UK).
After getting used to HRT I do feel much better on it I have more energy and strength. I don't know how it really effects my migraines my feeling is that it doesn't really change them that much I am a chronic sufferer and I have good months and bad months but I've been this way for decades now, my worse phase of migraine was right before I started HRT and as at one point i had a migraine for 6 weeks straight.
I did see this article: https://www.uspharmacist.com/article/stroke-a-concern-if-hrt-worsen-migraines-in-women
However that study is based on very old data from 30 years ago Womens health initative which is often seen as flawed now.
Anyway just wondered about any other migraine sufferers thoughts on taking HRT the risks and the benefits etc?
