My experience-Migraine Infusion Treatment?
Hey everyone, I want to see if anyone has insight into a treatment I have heard about recently.
Some background: I have struggled with Chronic migraines starting at age 12. My mother and brother suffer from them, leading us to the genetic conclusion. I witnessed my Mom in the ER a lot at a very young age. Mine were few and far between when I was young and slowly increased in frequency every year, to the point I was suffering from debilitating migraines more days out of the month than I wasn't in my mid 20s (32f now). After tons of treatments I finally found a treatment plan that helped and gave me a lot of my quality of life back. It was a preventative combination of nerve blocks every 2 months and aimovig, along with abortive and rescue medications. Botox was a life changer for my Mom but did nothing to help me. I have been experiencing a significant increase in frequency again in the past 6 months that's only been getting worse.. I go for my nerve blocks tomorrow and wanted to see if anyone has had success or any insight into a treatment my Mom suggested.. as I have been advised not to google medical things or to at least take them with a grain of salt as to not be bombarded with worse case scenarios. It has been described as a sort of infusion treatment. Has anyone heard about it or know anyone that's had success with it? If so any light you can shed on it would be greatly appreciated as no-one truly understands the struggle like other chronic sufferers. I am only asking for anyones personal experience, not medical advise. I plan to speak with my neurologist about it at my appointment but want to see if anyone has had an experience with it. I appreciate you taking the time to read this.
Thanks in advance, we all know any knowledge in battling this chronic condition is invaluable.
